This route - 99 miles, 158 kilometres

The first half of this route allows you to settle into touring mode with wide-open roads that meander alongside the highway and possibly even to pull back on that throttle a little.

You’re led into the town of Lanark, which recently received another second gold in Visit Scotland’s green Business Tourism Scheme. After dabbling in the delights of Lanark, you’ll be whisked away into the picturesque land of the Scottish Borders. From here it’s time to settle in, sit back on that leather and take it slow. The route snakes through some beautiful biking roads, bending and dipping through the farmlands and odd forest.

As if to bid you a kind farewell, the breathtaking St Mary’s Loch opens out to guide you on your way home to a well earned warm cup of coffee at the Buccleuch.

Thanks to The Buccleuch Arms Hotel, Moffat for providing this route.
